So my MOH lent me the new Anne Bishop Dark Jewels book The Shadow QueenIt was quite good - fun, a little more laidback than the first three, but making more sense than her more recent books. There was more from the original main characters than I expected, and yet enough about new interesting people that I really enjoyed ( Read more... )

I have just finished - and supremely enjoyed - A Madness of Angels (or: the resurrection of Matthew Swift) by Kate Griffin.

It was an extremely enjoyable story.

On her site she lists Roger Z. as a favourite writer, and I can see the influence.
